#6- Global Trends

Trends come and go all year long and even with streaming and the things that we watch I think that people find new thinks to watch everyday and always making something become a trend. 

Something that I think is trending right now just because I have seen it all over TikTok is The Bachelor. Now I don't watch The Bachelor but I know a lot of my friends watch it and are very invested in it. The Bachelor is a dating show where a number of girl all date the same man. The man then has to limit down the ladies and pick the lady that he want to be with and marry.  Most people are into it because the man or The Bachelor is very handsome from what I have seen but other people are into the show because the ladies on the show are also very pretty too. 

Most people really loved two people on the show, Daisy and Maria. Now I only know about Maria because of TikTok. On TikTok Maria is made out to be a very confident lady and someone who know her worth and won't settle for less than that. As someone who has a lot of confined in herself I liked what I saw about Maria. I love seeing women that are confident in themselves and is never afraid to show how much confident she said within herself. Daisy from what I saw on TikTok seems like a really nice girl and when tho she wants to be chosen by Joey (The Bachelor) but she knows in her gut that is will not be chosen by Joey but she doesn't take it out on him and just leaves and goes on about her life. 

                    

Something that is also trending on the gaming side of the world is the game "My Suika". It is a game that involves you trying to build a high score y dropping fruits into a container without having them overflow out the container. To earn points the player must combine two of the same fruits, which creates a new fruit in the game's fruit cycle. Now I think of the game Suika like I would the other poplar games like "2048" and "Tetris". The game involves come physics. The goal of the game is to get a watermelon, that's it that all. There are 11 fruits in the game and they go in a cycle from smallest to largest. The cherry, strawberry, grapes, dekopon, persimmon, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, cantaloupe, and the titular watermelon. 

I love the game but the only problem about the game it is ridiculously hard, thanks to its physics system that makes fruit bounce all over the place. Plus, it's just hard to organize the fruit correctly.  The bigger the fruits that merge the larger  the point bonus is, with the largest merger a player can achieve resulting in the watermelon. 

During 2023 Suika gained popularity after being played by live streamers, particularly YouTubers. The game was received well by critics, praising the simplicity and charm of the game. It achieved over four million downloads by November 2023 and became the most downloaded game on the Nintendo Switch for the year in Japan.
